Privacy Policy

Effective March 1, 2024. Last updated September 5, 2026.

LoveDust Films (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a wedding videography and photography studio based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit lovedustfilms.com and our other pages, when you respond to our advertising, and when you become a client, and how we handle it.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you send an inquiry through our contact form, or through a lead form on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, or Google, we ask for your name, email address, phone number, your partner’s name, your wedding date, the service you are interested in, and anything you choose to tell us. If you book us, we also collect the details needed to plan and deliver your film or photos, such as your venue, schedule, and the names of people we should know, and we keep the contract and the payment records our processors produce. If you send us photos, you give us those photos.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our pages we and our service providers collect the usual technical information: the pages you view, the links and ads you clicked to reach us, your approximate location from your IP address, your device and browser type, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies. The advertising and analytics section below explains who receives this and why.

We collect information by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent, and we tell you why we are collecting it and how it will be used.

How we use it

We use your information to reply to your inquiry, prepare a quote, plan and deliver your film or photos, take payment, and keep in touch about your booking. We use the technical information to keep the site working, to understand which pages and ads bring us couples, and to show our advertising to people who are likely to be interested in it. We do not make automated decisions about you that have legal effects.

Advertising and analytics

We advertise on Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, and Google (Search and YouTube), and we measure whether that advertising works. To do that, our pages use these tools:

  • Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, provided by Meta Platforms, Inc.

  • TikTok Pixel and TikTok Events API, provided by TikTok Inc.

  • Google Ads tag and Google Analytics, provided by Google LLC.

These tools collect the technical information described above, including the pages you visit and the actions you take, such as sending an inquiry. Each platform may combine that information with the account you hold with it, and uses it to measure our campaigns, to build reports for us that do not identify you, and to show our ads to you and to people with similar interests on their services. This is sometimes called remarketing or interest-based advertising. When you send an inquiry we may also share a hashed version of your contact details with these platforms so that we can reach you again, avoid showing you ads for something you have already asked about, or find audiences similar to our clients. The platforms handle this information under their own privacy policies: Meta’s Privacy Policy, TikTok’s Privacy Policy, and Google’s Privacy Policy, together with Google’s page on how it uses information from sites that use its services.

Your choices about advertising. You can control the ads you see from these platforms in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, your TikTok ad settings, and your Google Ads Settings. You can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at optout.aboutads.info and at optout.networkadvertising.org. You can also decline advertising cookies in your browser as described in the cookie policy below. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal: when your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sharing described in this section for that browser.

Text messages

If you check the box agreeing to receive SMS communications from LoveDust Films, you consent to receive text messages from us about your inquiry and booking. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Your mobile number and your SMS consent will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers who process information on our behalf and only on our instructions: the customer relationship system where inquiries are stored and messages are sent, our website, image, and video hosting providers, the payment processors that handle card payments (we never see your full card number), and the advertising and analytics platforms described above. We disclose personal information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of any person, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry information for as long as we are in conversation with you and for a reasonable period afterwards so that we can help if you come back. If you book us, we keep your booking, delivery, and payment records for as long as the law requires us to keep business records. Advertising and analytics data is kept by the platforms for the periods described in their policies. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, as described below.

Your rights

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop sharing it for advertising purposes, and we will honor the request unless the law requires us to keep the information. To make a request, email hello@lovedustfilms.com with the subject line “Privacy request”. We will confirm your identity by replying to the email address or phone number we have on file. You may authorize someone to make a request for you. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.

California residents. The California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know, delete, and correct your personal information, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not sell personal information and we do not use sensitive personal information for anything other than providing our services. The advertising described above may count as “sharing” under California law; you can opt out by emailing us, by sending the Global Privacy Control signal, or through the platform settings listed above. Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Oregon, Texas, Virginia, and other states with similar laws have similar rights and can use the same contact.

Children

Our services and our advertising are for adults planning a wedding or celebrating an anniversary. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Security

We protect the information we hold within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

External links

Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. We have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of our website after a change means you accept the updated policy.

This cookie policy describes what cookies are and how LoveDust Films uses them on our website and any of its pages. It also describes the choices available to you regarding accepting or declining the use of cookies. For further information on how we use, store and keep your personal data secure, see the Privacy Policy above.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of data stored in text files that are saved on your computer or other devices when websites are loaded in a browser. They are widely used to remember you and your preferences, either for a single visit (through a “session cookie”) or for multiple repeat visits (using a “persistent cookie”). Pixels, tags, and local storage work in similar ways and are covered by this policy too.

Session cookies are temporary cookies that are used during the course of your visit to the website, and they expire when you close the web browser.

Persistent cookies are used to remember your preferences within our website and remain on your desktop or mobile device even after you close your browser or restart your computer.

Cookies may be set by the website (“first-party cookies”), or by third parties, such as those who serve content or provide advertising or analytics services on the website (“third-party cookies”). These third parties can recognize you when you visit our website and also when you visit certain other websites.

What type of cookies do we use?

Necessary cookies. Necessary cookies allow us to offer you the best possible experience when accessing and navigating through our website and using its features, such as playing our films and submitting the contact form.

Functionality cookies. Functionality cookies let us operate the website in accordance with the choices you make, such as remembering that you have already seen a message.

Analytical cookies. These cookies, including those set by Google Analytics, enable us and third-party services to collect aggregated data for statistical purposes on how our visitors use the website. They help us understand which pages and campaigns work.

Advertising cookies. Third-party cookies and pixels from the advertising platforms we use, currently Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, and Google, let those platforms recognize you when you visit our website, measure whether our advertising works, and show you our advertising on their services. These cookies are used for event tracking and remarketing. Any data collected with these tags is used in accordance with our privacy policy and the platforms’ own privacy policies.

What are your cookie options?

If you do not like the idea of cookies or certain types of cookies, you can change your browser’s settings to delete cookies that have already been set and to not accept new cookies. You can manage the advertising you see in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, your TikTok ad settings, and your Google Ads Settings, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at optout.aboutads.info. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out from advertising cookies and pixels.

We reserve the right to modify this policy at any time, effective upon posting of an updated version on the website. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after any such changes constitutes your consent to those changes.

Acceptance of this policy

You acknowledge that you have read this policy and agree to its terms. By using the website you agree to be bound by it. If you do not agree to abide by the terms of this policy, you are not authorized to use or access the website.
